Mimi and Kim Shannon are affectionately called “the SHINE ladies” wherever they go. A mother/daughter duo, they began working with women in May 2009 after Mimi conceived of The SHINE Factor in a dream, and Kim moved back to Boulder, Colorado. From the moment they teamed up, SHINE has taken on a life of it’s own impacting women near and far away.

Meet Mimi Shannon

Mimi Shannon is a soul intuitive. She has worked with women for over 22 years helping them embrace and understand the innate power of who they are as women–their veritable SHINE. She founded The SHINE Factor in 2009 to help women of all ages, cultures, and backgrounds step into their SHINE and provide a safe forum, support, and tools to explore and live their greatness. Mimi is also a published author and continues to write articles focused on women’s evolution.  Her first book, Self Love: The Crown Jewel – Reflections from the Journey was released in 2000. Currently, she is working on a collection of essays entitled, SHINE For Your Life, slated for publication in 2011. Mimi’s personal journey to her own SHINE is a testimony to the essence of what it means to be a woman and she is honored and grateful to help others find and live their SHINE as well.

In Mimi’s own words…”When I began my life’s journey I had no idea where I would end up. My beginnings were less than auspicious and from an early age I felt disenfranchised. While I didn’t understand what they meant until way later, the two things that drove me were to be free and to go “home”.  I have been following the clues ever since. Along the way, like most women, I played many roles and wore many hats…eldest child, teen bride, divorcee, single mom, corporate executive, sexual abuse survivor, healer, writer, grandmother (aka Meema) and entrepreneur to name a few.

It wasn’t until my thirties when I was diagnosed with two life-threatening illnesses that I began to closely examine myself and my life.  In my quest, I lovingly cradled my desires to be free and to go home. In my reflection, I was able to really explore my own needs and who I really am. In my exploration, I finally understood what it truly means to be a woman as well as break free of the confining box I had been living in. That quest/reflection/exploration has impacted every aspect of my life, opened and shut many doors, revealed many truths and eventually brought me to understand my own SHINE.

I have often said that I have lived a lifetime for each of my years, which at the moment would mean sixty-three. I am grateful I have lived long enough to discover that my “home” is my SHINE and to be free to live it. To be able to help other women do the same is pure grace.

Meet Kim Shannon

Kim Shannon is an intuitive life coach. She uses her intuition, the ancient art of numerology, and animal spirit guidance to help your true Self be fully expressed in your career, relationships, and creative expression. She collaborates with the divine to help you blossom and bloom. Kim is a Certified Career Intuitive Coach as well as a student of shamanism studying with Sandra Ingerman. She is honored to work in tandem with her mom, Mimi, and believes the work they do with women to be life changing and empowering.

In the corporate world, Kim has championed the artist, the children and above all else communication undertaking projects such as AMERICA 24/7 where she hired and solved problems for 1,000 top professional photographers and was instrumental in producing 51 coffee table books. She has also produced videos and interactive educational programs. One of Kim’s passions has been teaching and being a mentor for young minds. Creating a platform for self-expression, she started “KIDVERSATIONS: Conversations with Kids” a summer camp and after-school program where children were empowered to create their own television shows both in front of and behind the camera.
